Two doubles and one triple - all in one field of view!

Recommended Posts

Recently found these great doubles - there bright, split in low power and easy to find!

Look 2 degrees west of the Garnet star (Mu Cephai) for a small grouping of stars. Aim there.

Struve 2815 is a nice double, though there is no color. This is a nice wide (7.5'') equal in magnitudes pair.

Struve 2816 is a great triple star system - there is some difference in brightness between the components, but the wide separation (12'' and 20'') makes this an easy split. From what I have read, the primary is yellow. I didn't notice any color though.

And last, but not least, is Struve 2819 - a wide 13'' pair. There is a brightness difference of about 1 magnitude.

Thanks for posting. Lovely clear way of presenting data, must try it.

Σ2816 is one of my favourites, a really stunning sight, as is OΣ461 , a Cepheus five star multiple,
