Field of view

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

This is going to sound stupid i know but can anyone tell me how i can find out the field of view for my scope/eyepieces so i can input the info into my astronomy app on my pc.

The scope is a Celestron lcm80 86mm Aperture and 900mm Focal length and my eyepieces are 25mm, 25mm wide view, 20mm, 9mm and 4mm.

I have looked on the scope and the eyepieces but it does not say.

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Generally the FoV is the Eyepiece FoV divided by the Magnification.

So it depends on the eyepiece specification.

Just work out the magnification from each and divide that into the eyepiece FoV..

Assume you have it but if not: Exit pupil is Aperture/Magnification, which can take a few forms as f number is Aperture/Focal Length.
