Monday Sunshine

The sun is looking great again today with the remnants of the CME still hanging in there despite being detached. I am not sure how the detachment manages to stay put for so long but I guess it must be down to the huge magnetic forces of the sun.

No doubt that eventually any plasma that isn't blasted into inner space will be pulled back into the sun

The whole of the area around the 10 O'clock position is looking mighty active with several proms being created to replace any that have calmed down. There are also a few other smaller prominences dotted around the 7 & 3 O'clock positions.

The massive starspots have all but disappeared from view, for the time being, so this marvellous view has been replaced by a group of several smaller spots that have congregated around the centre of the disc so not a great deal to see in white light.

The surface is still looking great in Ha with lots of granulation to be seen and the usual swirling patterns are combining with the filament footprints, all this detail is contributing to that lovely marbled effect that makes the surface of the disc so mesmerizingly hypnotic

All in all quite wonderful
