July 3, 2014: Big prom just popped up

Recommended Posts

Working from home at the moment as one of the kids has had his final day at primary school yesterday. Had the scope outside just a while ago and noted few proms: one tall, ghostly one near the north polar region, one V-shape westwards, and an interesting ridge on the eastern limb. Lots of sunspots in the east as well. I just went for a another look, and a huge prom is now sticking out of the eastern limb, at an angle of roughly 40 degrees with respect to the limb. Intermittent cloud means I will have to look again in a while, but will report any developments
