June 2, 2014: Massive prom still active before breakfast

Recommended Posts

Just had a quick look, and the massive prom on the south-eastern limb is still going strong. It looks like a collection of flames more than a partial arc at the moment. Another, fainter prom is visible southwards. To the north of the big prom there is a little bright spike right on the limb. Might become active. Looks like a great day for solar observation.

Thanks for the heads up, Michael :) I wasn't going to bother taking my scope in to work today, as I can get the Sun before and after work now if the clouds play ball. But as the prom was still there, I did, and got a lovely quick view from the car park before the working day started. Some of my colleagues had a look too. Fab!
