I had another go at processing my first go at Mars last night. I think I've improved it by choosing the alignment frame more carefully, stacking a smaller percentage of the frames and being much more aggressive with the linked wavelets in Registax, but I'd welcome any feedback and constructive criticisms.

1,000 frames at 13fps with Canon 1100D and APT, 12" newt with 4x barlow. Stacked the best 10% in Registax, heavy use of wavelets and a bit of tweaking in PS CS2 to boost the contrast and feather in the edges a little.

certainly looks a lot better, much less noisier than the original image so well worth the effort!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm very pleased with the new version. To my eye it's a lot better but I wasn't sure if I'd overdone it.
