Moon 15th Apr Reprocess

Recommended Posts

Had another go at processing a recent moon shot taken with an old 450mm M42 lens on my DSLR. I took about 30 frames, fed them through PIPP and Registax and sharpened with wavelets.

Not bad I think, although I have probably overdone the sharpening - what do people think please?

There is also a green tinge at the top of the image, I guess this is caused by chromatic aberration? I took the same lens down to the local RSPB sanctuary last weekend, it does suffer from it quite badly - white birds against a dark background produced red halos.

The other problem is the processing artifacts around the terminator, I guess I can fix that by blending with a less strongly processed image.
