APT for mono CCD Imaging?

Hi,

Does anyone use APT for imaging with a mono CCD? I use APT with a DSLR at the moment and have been looking at what software I would need when I eventually move to a mono CCD. APT supports this, but is it any good? If not, what is the recommended software? I have seen MaxIm, looks like it's the business, but seems pretty expensive. The other one I've come across is Sequence Generator Pro - looks like it would do a very good job.

Apt is great with a dlsr, but for my atik I use the free artimis capture software, then either the dawn software or deep sky stacker followed by photoshop cs3 to finish off the processing.

Apt does everything I require with my Atik and filter wheel. I stuck with it after my Dslr purely out of familiarity.

The normal complaint is Apt is not as easy to use as Artemis but that's no problem if you are already familiar with apt.
