Observing in Cornwall on holiday

Recommended Posts

I had a weeks holiday with friends on the North Cornwall Coast over Easter.  Managed to take my scope with me and we spent quite a few hours using it.

Highlights were;

Friends overjoyed reactions to looking at things through the scope for the first time!

Good views of the Moon and Jupiter (despite the very bright moon).

First real view of Mars!

Great ISS views, plus a couple of other satellites on different nights.

Being able to begin to recognise and find some constellations and name them!

Not really any serious observing as we were with friends but overall a very enjoyable few evenings.

Sure beats watching Eastenders!

100% Cloud beats Eastenders  :grin:

Andrew, sounds like you had great observing sessions in Cornwall.  You mention "not any serious observing" but if you enjoyed it, then you achieved what it's all about.

Regards, Ed.
