Hi is a celestron neximage cam any good? i have a nexstar 127 slt scope and is it a good combo?

Should probably be ok as your scope is suitable for planetary imaging and its a planetary camera, they have one at a good price here:

Another alternative people start out with is the Phillips SP900nc, they come up quite often second hand imaging ready for about 65 pounds.

That depends what type and quality of images you want to get And how much you want to spend on it.

Sorry to slightly hijack. Is the neximage also suitable for deep sky photography? I am going to purchase a Celestron C8 on Advanced VX mount. Due to the quality of the scope's optics, and tracking ability of this mount, I imagine by fiddling with the iCap camera control software at the time, and by later stacking etc, this camera would be very capable with these sorts of objects?

Actually sorry, after coming across an excellent skyatnightmagazine article, would my DSLR (Nikon D90) be well suited to the job, since I gather the NexImage is only intended for lunar/planetary?
