sambarber
This really sucks cause of the format limitations and the fact that my smarteq hasn't arrived yet.Orion Nebula, about 2 mins worth of 1.6 and 2 second exposures. Again, it is better in a bigger format. Cant wait till the mount comes.

Leveye
I have owned a smarteq pro for quite awhile. If you ever have any questions about it feel free to ask.
sambarber
terry67, I am using a 70mm f/5.7 refractor on a stationary tripod. Each exposure is about 2 or 1.6 sec. long taken with a canon Eos 20d. Leveye, how long unguided can I go on a smarteq pro with a 400mm focal length do you think? I have heard reports of about 2 to 3 min., can you back this up? thanks
Carina Lass
People ask about the exposure possible on a mount without guidingIt's hard to estimate as polar alignment, balance, wind, weight, temperature and even vibration all have a hand In the pie. I've never seen a pic unguided that looks as good as one that given the same parameters has guiding. Often guiding can make a poor alignment and setup irrelevant. Though that's rare.
