White Planets???

Recommended Posts

I've observed both Mars and Jupiter, but both of them appears as white discks instead of what other people say that i can see throuh my telescope. It's a Bresser Skylux EL 70/900 (LIDL telescope)

If the magnification on Jupiter is too small then the overall brightness just makes what you see as white.

In binoculars it is always white for this reason.

Equally if the image is not reasonably focused the light is spread over everything and again white.

Mars should come out Orange/Red no matter what.

Mars will just show as a small disk in your scope, Jupiter if the eyepieces are fair should display a couple of bands.
