Leaving the scope outside

Besides the chances of it finding a new owner, is there any reason that a scope with no electric parts/motors etc cannot be left outside with the lense covers on.

Apart from the new owner problem, you should protect it from the weather, i.e. rain /damp. also insects etc might love the inners if there is any access for them, like through the cooling fan if you have one fitted.
