I've been posting about this in the blog section, but thought I would put a link in here too.

I have ordered threaded rod, thumbwheels and springs for the primary cell, plus have just picked up a smaller fan and some connectors. Should be nearly there in terms of being able to practise assemble it before painting.

All my bits and pieces arrived yesterday so I had a practice assembly of the primary cell. I'm delighted with the result!!

It adjusts very smoothly and feels very solid too :-)

Hi Stu,

Looking good. I have been following your posts and block on your SX250. I will be paying even more attention in case I am able to snaffle soem ideas to use on my 300PDS. As a starter for 10, where did you order your springs from, id it come as a pack of 3?

Thanks Ian.

I'm sure you can get cheaper, but the springs I got are a 'Farpoint' set from 365 Astronomy. They seem to do a 12" and 16" replacement set. I did actually get the 16" because my cell uses M8 rod and they seem to fit perfectly. Probably quite stiff but rather that than too floppy I thought?

I'm sure Zoltan will advise if needed.

Cheers,

Stu
