Cigar Galaxy Supernova, in Awe

After reading of this supernova in m82, I had some clear sky last night but it was very cold, no matter I had to check it out and sure enough there it was a bright dot inside the galaxy, I looked at it for about 10min. until the cold sent me inside, it was quite a feeling knowing that it was a Supernova what I was seeing, Awesomeness.

Call me Desdinova.

Well spotted, envious. Seems as tho the world and his dog managed to find it last night except me. Word is it may get brighter over coming days/weeks.

I just managed to spot it tonight before the clouds rolled in from the NW.

The light pollution here is such that the galaxy is hardly visible at all, even with averted vision. The supernova itself also needed averted vision when looking at it with my C11 scope and 26mm eye-piece.
