Autostar Updater

Recommended Posts

I Bought myself a spare Autostar 497 Via Ebay some time ago, and today I thought I would update both controllers to the latest version.

First I updated the Autostar Updater program itself Via Meade 4M.

Having done that, I connected each unit in turn via a made up 12 volt power lead, plugged in the Serial connector to the 497, and away it went.

Did both sets, no problem. Now when I go through setup aand get to telescope telescope model, I can't find the LX90 listed on either set.

I am almost certain the LX90 model was there initially.

The version I Have installed now, is 43EG.

There are DS Models, could these be replacing LX90 LX200 etc.?

I know there are some LX90 owners out there, so I hope one of you will put me in the picture on this.

Ron.

Hi Ron i updated my meade firmware for my LX90 not so long ago.

Used this windows updater client http://www.meade.com/support/auto/Au2.exe

Updated to latest firmware http://www.weasner.com/etx/autostar/as_archive/Build43ed.zip .The same that you have.

(took about 20mins to flash the new firmware).

Had no problems. Hope this helps .

Sure you've looked here before , but in case you have'nt http://www.weasner.com/etx/autostar_info.html

If all else fails try this procedure , worked for me when an earlier firmware update failed and it completely crashed my controller.
