Problen aligning finder scope Skywatcher 200p Dob

Recommended Posts

Morning all,

I have a problem. A few months back I decided to try and collimate my scope (to learn how to do it even though I'm now 100% sure it needed it).

Anyway, since then the finder scope has been off target and I had been mean to sort it.

Today I tried to do just that, but, I'm totally unable to do so as the finder scope is too far off to one side and even with the horizontal axis screw at full I can't get the cross-hair far enough across to center on my target.

I assume this is because I buggered up the collimation, but would like some advice/confirmation.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks all,

I just went to take a pic and as I moved the scope, I noticed that the actualy bracket that the finder scope sits in moved slightly. I need to check and make sure the screws that hold the bracket in place are correctly tightened etc.

Either way, it's a physical problem.

Thanks for the help though, appreciated.
