Acculap

 Has anyone here tried the acculap? how did it perform? pros and cons compare to gogolz?

  will be polishing with lap on top only, is there any issues one should know about?

I have only used pitch laps so cannot comment on the ones you mention.

The only issue I have noticed with lap on top is this:

with the mirror on top the polishing slurry remains in the lap grooves. With the tool on top it sits on the mirror and the lap then pushes quite a lot of the slurry off the edge of the mirror leading to shorter wets and increased consumption of the polishing agent unless you recycle the slurry as do the bigger optics boys. I have never tried to reuse the slurry to prevent any possible contamination.
