EP Dew heater quick question

Better to go around the EP itself or will the diagonal be ok? Seems a faff swapping it out whenever you change magnification?

Around the eyepice usually, more effective there. Difficult to transmit the small amount of heat from the diagonal to the eye lens. Try not to breathe on the eyepiece - wear a scarf over your mouth to deflect your breath.

 I read a post before where the author did suggest wrapping it around a diagonal works although when I tried it the EP still misted up so I would say it needs to go around the EP to get the best results, both for dew control and to combat general condensation from the cold air v warm face....

If you're swapping between a couple or 3 eyepieces then keep them in a warm pocket (with a handwarmer in there too), that will keep an eyepiece mist-free for 15mins even on the worst nights before you swap it out for another. Keep the pocket clean and fluff-free, and don't put anything else in there with them apart from the handwarmer!

Ive considered having a hand warmer in my eyepiece case. Never tried it but would keep them warm.
