Germany Astro info., (Where are you Germans and Germany-related astro-gazers, info.?)

I understand this is mainly a UK-oriented website. It is also probably one of the larger or largest astronomy websites (?)(I don't know the statistics but they would not doubt be interesting). I know that professional Astronomy as studied in schools is taught in English. As an English speaker living in Frankfurt, Germany, I have to glean info. here at the website and reach out locally astro-goodies. Being just two weeks old to this forum I've done much snooping around and found very little German-related events and info.

I'll have to use my existing German language skills to explore German astro sites namely http://www.astronomie.de/ , which I wanted to share here.

Locally, I have found planetariums in Mainz http://www.astronomie-mainz.de/site/ and Mannheim, http://www.planetarium-mannheim.de/ , the two nearest. My seven-yo daughter expressed interest so it's on.

Lastly, I found this interesting article from just September this year about a movement to conserve one of the darkest sites in Germany.

I'll keep looking and hoping to see more related posts from my German SGL friends.
