M42 Ha

I was going to spend longer on this last night but the cloud got in the way..............again!

So the image comprises 4 @ 20 mins, 6 @ 5 mins, and 10 @ 30 secs.  Shot with the WO ZS71 and QHY9. Processed in Photoshop

Very exciting. Deep and detailed. 

Maybe you could pull out more from the Trap, though, in Ha?

Certain parts of M42 are quite different in Ha and this deep image really shows off those details. Great stuff.

I love it . Amazing level of delicate detail, I have the same scope and it seems work with the new 0.6 X reducer . Will have to give it a try.

You've nailed the outer Ha, very nice. Perhaps multiple layer masks are needed to get down to the core. Typically, I find this whole area requires five or six masks to get down to the trap. There also seems to be a strange concentric circular artefact to the left edge of the image - any idea what that might be?

Moon reflection pinging off the dew shield I think...it was right next to Orion when I imaged it

To be honest, if I could produce something half as good as this I would be extremely pleased with myself! The amount of detail is truly impressive!
