DSOs in 5 sec Lodestar exps!

First clear evening last night for 12 days for a brief 45min session after dusk.

The brevity of exposure is a reasonable guide to camera sensitivity and even just 5sec on the Lodestar-C as below gave some mean results :police:

Targets included M31 [core], Bowtie planetary [zoomed] and Double Cluster - the later in two shots as the pair too big for my scope's fov.    Full data in the pic title/file name incl scope/ exposure/ orientation and fov.

What can your cam record in 5s exposures?

Hi Maurice

Amazing for 5 seconds!!

I'd like to try a few open clusters - don't seem to be able to capture the star colour like you with my SDC435.

The Bowtie Nebula - looks like NGC 40, although NGC2440 is also called the Bowtie Nebula - I "saw" it in November, but unfortunately my mount was playing up so  I did not post it:

This was at x512 (10 second exposure) using my SW102MAK with the F3.3 reducer on the SWAZ Mount - I think that the alt axis was slipping.

Clear Skies

Paul
