Batch pre-processing a set of TIFFs in Gimp ... Possible ...?

I know that most of you use PS but as they're similar I was hoping someone may have an idea ... 

I would like to tweak my Solar subs before feeding them to Uncle Reg , with the Wedge I find it needs a touch of GaussianBlur , a few touches of UnsharpMask and a Vertical flip to get the best from them.

Is there a way to set up a processing procedure that lets you enter the various tweaks and then apply them all to a set of twenty or so TIFFs in one hit , as opposed to opening each one in turn and applying one at a time ... ?

Found one tutorial on the subject on Gimp homepage , but it involves rewriting scripts .... well out of my comfort zone there so I'll do it the long way ...

Hmm not played with scripts in Gimp, but sure its doable - there is a plugin scripter called Gimpscripter that purports to generate custom script macros from a visually driven set of actions - http://registry.gimp.org/node/25305   It sounds about right, though not sure if it could fit the bill.
