Hadn't the heart to SELL my Skywatcher Pillar - Nor the Energy to dig a big hole and concrete in a Pillar! So here's my finalised "Frankenstein" Skywatcher (Observatory) Pillar. The Pillar is jacked up on (professional brickie laid!) concrete block plinths - The observatory rests on a firmly concreted-in patio. The pillar feet rest in copper pipe ends, cemented into holes drilled into the topmost bricks.

The "Owl Box" is one of those *monumental* "Astro Engineering" efforts from Scopes and skies.

The Pillar: 35lb - The Owl Box:25lb! A custom adapter (Thanks, Mate with lathe!) mates the two.  :)

Atop that is (blue thing with white "compass" scale ) - an Altair Astro "Pier Adaptor" for an HEQ5.

If I jump up and down on the Observatory floor, the VIDEO image judders very slightly.

For normal use: "Visual" OR  20min unguided / Registaxed (Video) Avi's. It works fine. ;)

The pillar wheels were unbolted... Certainly it won't be "going anywhere" very quickly! :D

P.S. Forgot to add: The Electronics boxes are attached via 4" Skywatcher scope rings -

Remove the Felt with e.g. "White Spirit" and the (almost) fit the pillar perfectly...
