Comet Brewington

Recommended Posts

Noticed this one is sitting quite favourably in Pegasus to hop to. Wanted to get the scope out to give this a go, but not worth it at the moment I think with that thin cloud/haze atm.

Anyone spotted  it recently ? I know I am not going to expect a Lovejoy experience, but all the same worth a look I think ?.

Wasn't it covered a lot on S@N ?

If I recall it has a period of about 10 years, so with the number of times it has visited the sun most of the volitle material will have boiled off long ago so no real tail to speak of. But it is still there.

I have spotted it twice now from the IOW,

It is a faint little smudge that needs a bit of power to make it stand out from the stella backgound

(not too much or it will hide).  Have not seen it for a week or so, so it may have dimmed, but if the others are anything

to go by we can simply await the outburst.

Standby mag -30 Comet of the millenium.

Mick.
