DGU
I am away in Northumberland with the gf and with it being so dark here and clear skies last night, what a cracking view of the sky. We saw the milky way naked eye for the first time and what an amazing site !!
Crebles
I know, quite incredible isn't it. I remember the first time I saw Milky Way from dark site in Spain. Wow.
dick_dangerous
I never appreciated the Milky Way until I moved to London and couldn't see it.As Joni Mitchell sang, "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone..."DD
acey
Thursday night/ Friday morning was particularly clear at my site in Northumberland - I got an SQ reading of 21.67. The winter Milky Way was a very fine sight, running through Auriga and past Orion, towards the horizon. That's a much fainter stretch than the Cygnus region, and nice to see it shining so well. Viewing DSOs is a cinch under conditions like that - I logged my 2,000th NGC.

mert
It is cool, sometimes I have a hard job picking out the constellations as there's so many starts. Not tonight though, all I can pick out is loads of clouds.
