Comets! Grrr, not easy targets

I did manage a brief sequence on ISON a few days ago, but this is the considerable more accessible comet Lovejoy on 22 November.

I used 15 minute unguided exposures and the mount was programmed to follow the movement of the comet, and it worked rather well.

Very nice. It is really moving at quite a clip with respect to the background, isn't it?

It really is, that's just over an hour and a half of exposure at 1000mm
