Nexstar 127 SLT Vs Skymax 102

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

i was thinking of getting one of these purely for observing when at dark star sites and was looking for some opinions

My imaging rig is my primary focus always comes with me to star parties and any dark skies i maybe visiting but once I'm setup and imaging I'm left with nothing to do.

Don't get me wrong at Six Penny Handley once all was running i kinda laid on my back looking up going WOW and peaking into other peoples scopes which was great but i want a real quick visual setup of my own and frankly i have a full case of Hyperion's which I'm not using which is a shame. so i was thinking of one of these & wondered if people had any thoughts.

This won't be used at home &  I've gone off the idea of a DOB on the basis of space & i don't want to just buy bino's as i want to make use of my Hyperion's (i do need some binos) so a MAK like one of these will be perfect  as it won't take up too much space and i can throw it in the car at short notice (poss even carry on).

The only thought I've had is that the Celstron would be better as i already have one and its essentially a spare handset if the worse should happen but if the Skywatcher is a much better scope I'll go for that.

Thoughts
