First Picture Of Jupiter (Skywatcher Heritage 130P)

Took some pictures of Jupiter the other night using my digital camera.

Also recorded some movies.  Got them on the computer and they were far to bright, no detail at all.

Tried adjusting the settings on my camera but no joy.  

I remember accidently leaving the flash on for one of them and almost deleted it.  I noticed though that the camera seems to have over compensated for the brightness meaning I've got some detail!!!

Ran it through registax and managed to bring out more detail.  If you zoom in you can also see one of jupiters moons.

The strange red and green colours are the eyepiece!  

Quite happy with it.  Though tonight i'm going to record a movie with my phone of Jupiter using a low iso and low exposure.  Hoping for more detail.

crop out the colours around the edge and you have a nice first image to compare your further images to. i can see the moons and a couple of equatorial belts as well so pretty good first effort!

I'll give that a try.

What settings would you use on a camera to film Jupiter?  I'm just holding the camera up to the eyepiece at the moment.

Are there any camera adapters that would work with a heritage 130p?

You might find this thread interesting.

I am also on the look out for an adaptor but don't want to poay £30 odd pounds for a ready made one for quick snaps as I have a webcam that I could use.

Managed to take a picture of the moon the other night as well.

Took it using a digital camera in front of a 5mm BST eyepiece.

Really happy with the views it gives.
