Small window to aim at before it got too bright , got just 6 forty second frames away before losing him to the trees.

Was much better in the 15 x 70's visually , let's hope it makes it round the Sun intact so I get another go .

Just hanging around for the Sun now .... 

6 x 40s , Stacked in Reg 5.1 , touch of Gimp and nasty stars touched out , ISO 400 @ f7.1 , Canon 75-300 @ 200mm.

I'd be pretty happy with that I slept in an hour and set up at 05:15. Got some data but then turned my attention to lovejoy

Nice capture Steve.

I was up at 4.30 to try and spot it but between banks of low cloud I couldn't find it. I suspect it might even have been below rooftop height anyway. Totally clouded over again at 5.30 so I grabbed an extra hours kip, now it's crystal clear. I sometimes wish I'd taken up badminton instead of astronomy

At least you got it.  I can't see to the south east from my back garden so the chance of me getting it until it has been round the sun is zero.  Still might see it by eye in the morning light?
