Iris nebula - did I see it

Hello all

I was hoping someone could confirm if I 'saw' the Iris nebula. I'm certain I was in the right spot. I saw a lonely star with a hint of nebulosity in a reasonably big dark area. Is the iris a dark nebula and us that big dark spot it. I know the star is supposed to create nebulosity but just not sure. That was it. Any thoughts?

Yeah big dark area with single star is what I assumed it to be a couple of days ago.was much larger area than I expected
