Quick question guys, having removed the filter is it better to leave the black plastic filter housing off?

I guess it may help with air circulation around the sensor when I add a fan to the case later, and apart from that I have lost one of the screws :-)

Yep, leave it off. It isn't needed   and yes, it will let more heat escape form the sensor. Every little bit helps.

yep I left mine off mainly so I can get to the sensor more easily so I can clean all the dust that might get on it

Thanks Ken, Johnno I didn't think it would matter just as well.

I'll drill a few holes and add a fan to aid cooling might even try your cooling mod Ken that I found on CloudyNights site, but first a remote handset for the OSD as I can see touching the cam on the scope been a real pain.
