Comet Brewington position discrepency!

Recommended Posts

Hi

I`d like to have a go at finding Comet P154 Brewington but this web site http://in-the-sky.org/cometephem.php?obj=0154p gives its position as RA 21h59m27s Dec -01°48'00" but downloading the latest Comet data for Cdc puts the comet at RA 16h 51m 40s   Dec -39 28` 31" ?? These are just so far apart so which is the correct one please?

Thanks

Steve

I think Themos is right. Your latter co-ordinates look good for asteroid Brewington, not the comet. Also, there are two comet Brewington's! 154P is in Aquarius, and C1996 N1 is in Orion.
