How many hot pixels on PD and other cameras?

Hello everyone,

as the PD1 is my first VA camera, I was currious how many dead, how many hot pixel are to be expected?

Are other cameras (like the recent ebay deal or the Samsung) similar?

Sense up at it's fullest, captured after a few minutes (bottom image is the "older" frame) with the dust cap on.

Set to 512x sense-up and shot right away (bottom one is the oldest frame)

I know these type of cameras tend to be noisy but I was wondering how many hot pixel I have to expect; Especially the two yellow ones seem pretty prominent.

If this is too unspecific, I can upload a timed capture of a certain length or mesure the time when I started to take captures.

How would I aproach taking "darks", without getting software to identify regular noise as dead pixels? Just take several darks over a longer period?

Thanks!

You will always get them and a hard one to answer as every camera will be different even if they are the same model.

On darks I normally take a minute of them at the end if the session and let DSS do the rest.

The colder nights coming will also help a lot. Good for cameras bad for us lol
