'L' bracket and cup connector for motor focuser

I've made a little bracket and cup connector to align my stepper motor to the 10:1 reduction knob on my Altair astro 115 EDT-APO.

Motor is controlled via Arduino and SGL software. Needs a coat of paint to finish things off.

That looks beautifully neat What provides the friction between the cup and the knob to make sure it turns?

Hi James,

I have an elastic band around the 10:1 knob and the cup presses down on the band forming a sandwich (knob/elastic/cup) giving enough friction between the two to turn the knob.

By being a little flexible the band compensates for any small misalignments (which of course there are none!)

Just been trying it out on a distant tree, works really well
