M31 - Reprocessed

Hi,

Following on from my reprocessing of my M42 image after seeing a tutorial on You Tube I had another go at my M31 data.

This was a very early attempt at deep sky photography so please excuse the very poor framing! I also only took light, dark and bias frames so I have got very bad vignetting.

My original attempt at processing M31 can be seen here.

That is a good start and there is some good detail in the image, but you have restricted your processing possibilities not taking flats.

Work on taking good flats - its amazing how much more you can get from your data .

Thanks 1parsec.

Yes, I keep meaning to get some flats when I do image runs. I have set my laptop up so that I can take some frames of the display for flats, but last time I did an image run - about an hour or just over - my so called 3 hour laptop battery ran out during my imaging run. So I couldn't even finish my lights let alone do my flats! I must look at adding a laptop power supply to my power supply distribution box!

With the longer nights coming I am getting everything ready for some monster sessions!
