Stellarium constantly blinks on laptop

Recommended Posts

I'm just glad I've still got 0.8.2.

0.9 is well ropey.

I am running Stellarium 0.9. Have been for a few weeks when it was recomended to me by Pauln, ( if I remeber right), on here. I was trying to update it to show comets using his posts inc. ini file information. It runs fine on this somewhat basic lappy so I can only assume that it is a configuration and/or system problem that some people on here are having.

I found and installed version 0.8.2 from here http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/download.sourceforge.net/pub/sourceforge/s/st/stellarium/ (a myriad of previous versions)

The flickering is now going at about 10 per second! Annoying but usable for a quick look. The display is alternating between the night sky and overlaying the ground

Might try an even earlier version….

It might be the graphics card, it must be capable of running OpenGL. I have it installed on an HP laptop running winXP with an ATI graphics card and it runs very well. My main installation runs on a Linux machine, which has an Nvidia card. Both of these support OpenGL.
