My First Moon Photo

Hi guys, just thought i would share my first moon shot... i took this using my new DSLR - K100D using at 300mm F32 ISO 200 1/125 sec .. Sigma lens.. without filters and on a tripod, i converted to black and white using Photoshop...

what do you think please

I'd say that for a first attempt, its a very reasonable result, and you should be quite encouraged by it.

The Moon looks like an easy target, but its not so easy as might at first be thought. When the 'seeing' isn't good, the surface can be seen as really 'boiling' through a scope, and the camera sees the same effect.

With a DSLR, and a single shot, you have to be very lucky to 'catch' one of those brief moments, when the 'seeing' steadies.

Why did you decide to convert the image to monochrome?

This is the original result .. it came out a brownish colour this is why i converted it
