ISS tracked through the clouds

Recommended Posts

I waited up for the ISS's second pass over London last night, as it was going to reach 89 degree elevation and the sky had been pretty good on Wednesday. Alas, after sitting and watching for Perseids (saw one at 10.20 that was good and bright) the clouds rolled in, and I ended up tracking the ISS through about 80% cloud cover. I had my 1000D snapping at 1fps as I wrestled the 8" SCT round through the zenith, managing to get the ISS on the chip for about half the frames. Here's an example of one of the frames - not quite as well focussed (or collimated?) as I'd have liked, but recognisable.
