EQ5 mount

Can anyone tell me if an EQ5 mount is big enough to put a 10" f4.8 Orion Europa on, or will this scope be too heavy?

I think the EQ5 will be pretty marginal for that scope. I had a 10" f/4.7 on a CG5 mount (similar to EQ5 but slightly more beefier I believe?) which worked but only with considerable effort to get the balancing exactly right and I was never quite sure things were OK...

I was afraid of that looks like i'll have to save for an EQ6 then, unless someone wants to give me one for Xmas?

I agree, just not up to it I am afraid. I would go a stage further and say that I am not convinced that the HEQ5 is either so, you are right, EQ6 it is.
