EQMODLX missing MSWINSCK.OCX

I'm trying to get EQMODLX (v108?) to work having just installed it but I get the error message:

"Component 'MSWINSCK.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"

I have various other components of the ASCOM/EQMOD software suite installed and they all run without any errors.

I'm running Windows 7 32-bit.

Thanks Daz. Hadn't noticed it earlier. Also posted my query directly on the EQMOD Yahoo group and got the following reply for anyone else who's interested:

That's odd - MSWINSCK.OCX is a microsoft activex control that used to come as

part of the operating system itself but that microsoft later decided to drop.

The EQMODLX installer is supposed to install and register a copy of MSWINSCK.OCX

but there is also a copy in our files section you can use.

Download and install it in your system32 directory and the register it with

windows by opening a command prompt in that directory and typing

regsvr32 mswinsck.ocx

Chris

I had to run the cmd prompt as administrator to successfully register the component. That may have been the original issue but I didn't receive any errors during the original install of EQMODLX.

Thanks.

Simon
