The Western NGC 6960, a reprocess.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

As I have not had a single clear night in the last 4 evenings, I decided to reprocess the data from a few nights ago. It was a stack of only subs of 600s each, I had two more from an aborted previous attempt that I decided to combine but the rotation of one was too much for DSS, so I used an extra single sub. It was taken with a StarWavED 80 @F5.6, Atik 428 EX osc and IDAS LP V2 filter, Calibration frames were added. I have gone for a more subtle reprocess and held back on saturating the colours a bit I think that it has brought out a bit more fine detail out. Hope that you approve.

Regards,

A.G

No clear sky in 4 days? I havent had a dark sky in 4 months :p

That image looks smashing, any chance to see a high res version?

Hi Carl,

Many thanks, I see what I could do as I don't keep the TIFF files once I post an image due to lack of space on my laptop but I do have the original subs so may reprocess again. I am a bit jelous of all the great images that the guys are producing from other parts of the UK particulary the south, it looks as if the northwest has had the worst of the weather as per normal.

Regards and clear skies,

A.G

That's a great image- would love a few hours of clear skies here too!

Thank you Gareth,

I am on a steep learning curve and being in Manchester I probably have as few a clear nights as you.

Wish you clear skies,

A.G
