Ioptron mounts

Has anyone anyone got an iOptron mount that they can give some feedback on?

Alternatively any views about them in general.

There were some issues on build quality a while ago and I wonder if they have been ironed out?

My iOptron Smart EQ mount which I bought to mount a camera on has now been absent for 5 weeks.

It is back with the distributor for repair of the RA motor.

When I got it it was always about 15-20 deg out. At first I thought it was me.

After emails between iOptron and I we established the problem and it was shipped from here to Brisbane. The distributor then delayed the repair because he was stocktaking, the person doing the repair was then off sick...etc etc ad infinitum.

I am hoping it will be back soon. Not over impressed with the service.

When it was working (just in tracking mode not goto) it was very good indeed.

Sky & Telescope Australia gave two of their mounts (including the smart EQ) very good reviews.

I have the ioptron MT II and for some reason they changed the clutch material on the MkII. If your not carefull the clutch bites like its been superglued and requires two mole wrenches to get it loose again.
