Moon during the day- Help?

Hello,

The other day I tried to get a picture of the thin crescent but every frame looked like a flat frame!!

I have no idea what ISO/shutter speed to use.

I also tried with my little firefly and IR pass filter but similarly nothing.

Moon is nice and high atm in the south...clearly visible despite the sun.

Can someone tell me what settings to use on the 350d to get a picture through my 200p?

Settings seem to be very variable, depending on how bright the sky is relative to the Moon. I've always had to experiment on the day to get the best.
