focuser gripe

I'm not happy with stock focuser on my evostar 120ed ds-pro.

Sometimes the drawtube in the focuser just slips out.

When I lock the focuser it goes out of focus and I have to fiddle around to get it in focus and

locked.

Would I be better off getting the Baader steeltrack or would I still have the same problems

with any focuser.

I don't know the exact focusser fitted to your scope. But usually there is are adjustments to take up free play and set tightness.

I would look here before spending.

I've tightened the screws that make the focusing firmer but this has not helped.

Another unhappy cheapo Crayford user. You are not alone. The Steeltrack does work, I must admit, but I'd always prefer R and P.
