First long exposure trial of new Sigma 10-20mm Wide Angle lens

Woke up last night at 1.15am and found it was clear so I grabbed my AstroTrac and Canon 400D with Sigma 10mm-20mm lens. Heres the first of a few pics I took last night exposure 421 secs @ISO 200, F4, 10mm

The picture contains M44 Beehive Cluster, M45 Pleiades, Mars , Perseus Double Cluster and Comet Holmes amongst other things.

Nice pic. I like seeing the constellations in these widefields, and I had nothing else to do, so I've labeled it, if you don't mind?

GIF was the smallest format by far, so excuse the funny pattern.

Exposure 60 secs at ISO1600.

Processed in PS CS with Noel Carboni Actions.

Sorry, I got distracted. I've changed round the colour scheme a bit to avoid the jpeg effects to red, but in the end still saved it as GIF. Do forgive me

no probs. It probably helps quite a bit for me, getting to know the sky 8) Plus it's fun. The only snag is that I'm using the astronomical constellation shapes, whereas I find the Rey system far superior.
