Recommended Posts

ive recently bought a celestron cpc 800 from an auction but it just came with the fork mount and not the tripod, since celestron doesnt sell them seperatly, what heavy duty tripod would fit my scope? any replies would be great, cheers, gino

Hi Gino - it's a tailor made tripod for the CPC series unfortunately - the scope screws onto it with specific threaded holes. They tend not to be split up when sold privately cos they go together uniquely.

What you could do is find a friend who does metal work and ask if they can make up an adaptor. The Meade heavy duty tripods sometimes come up s/h on their own and would be very suitable for your scope with such an adaptor. There's plenty of chaps on here who've made adaptors for various mounts/tripods. Hope that helps a bit. :)
