Imaging with a Dob

agree - aperture isnt that important valefor when imaging but when viewing its almost everything - get 2 scopes !!!!!

the thing is im wanting to do both. i love just looking. but then i see something and i think "i wana see more of that" so i photo it for better detail. lol.

Ok. Well I'm exactly the same as you..... My whole ethos on this subject is as follows

if I want to see the Orion Nebula or m57 or anything i would sooner just look at it and if I liked it and wanted to see more come Inside after the session and come on here and look through galleries or at APOD website I'd rather not mess about levelling, aligning, setting up laptop, sorting out the software / red screen etc and then not actually look at it (the cam does all the looking) and that's hoping the seeing is good Etc

Whilst I only have the funds for 1 scope I think I'd rather do the seeing than the camera. However when I have the money ....
