Wide angle lense?

Hi all

I'm in the process of making a piggy back mount for my scope I'd like to eventually take wide angle shots of stars etc getting a large portion of the night sky in, I'm using my sisters canon 1000D and I haven't any idea where to start looking and info or links to sites would be good

Try posting/looking down in the Discussion - Camera section or the Imaging - Widefield section, there will be loads of help and ideas there.

You could just try sticking the camera on a tripod for starters though!

A 50mm f1.8 (nifty fifty) is cheap and quite good for wide angle shots.
