A newbie's question Binoculars & Luna

My son Andrew who is 7 and I have decided to start are astronomy adventure with the moon. What binoculars would you recommend for us. I need to stay around $150.00 if at all possible. Are any filters or special equipment needed for the task and fun that lays ahead of us? What retailer would you recommend?

Some 10x50 or 8x42 are all you need. A monopod and some sunglasses might make life easier.
